No, oh no, this was not a drawback in any way, in fact far from it, indeed this
was a good thing in Barak’s considered opinion.
This well thought through, somewhat educated deduction was arrived at by
Barak quite simply for this reason.
As naturally he being a dim witted sort of fellow, then the slow witted Hengist
could be easily led.
Thus he was there on hand to be used, aye manipulated for the greater good if
push should ever come to shove, this as it so often does.
Still though after all, the destiny of the slow witted Hengist is another story for
yet another day, even if that day was perhaps not too far away.
So with Hengist aside for now, gladly and to Aulric’s credit the celebrations at
the stone castle were just as expected a most lavish affair.
Of course for his only sons betrothal, no expense was spared, this on either the
food the drink or on the much varied entertainment, entertainment which came
from far and wide.
Exotic black haired, brown skinned female dancers, who hailed from afar
beguiled, bewildered and bewitched the feeble minded, thus causing these
enchanted fools to throw coinage a plenty at their painted toenails.
Also as well as these sultry temptresses, there were fire eaters, half drunken pot
bellied wrestlers, clowns, jugglers and tumblers these entertainers all came in a
good and plentiful supply.
Amusingly there was a big fat Turkish Strongman with a shaved head and a
foot long black beard garbed in a lion skin leotard.
Hell aye and strong enough this dateless looking fellow was, though not so
strong as the troll however.
And this as Borz in a good humoured fashion came from behind the strongman,
hoisting him high and skyward, all of this whilst the turk still clenched the heavy
barbells above his bald mostly empty head.
Needless to say after this most impressive show of pure power from Borz, the
turk never did an encore, in fact he was never even seen again.
No matter, and with the entertainers aside, these friends of the kindly King
Aulric, came also from far and wide to share in this most happy and joyous of
occasions.
Ragnor with his wild reckless crew of Norsemen had sailed from their now
adopted Baltic home.
A home where for the last couple of years these rogues acting under Ragnor’s
orders indulged themselves with some vigour in entering into the inn keeping
business.
For these efforts it would be true to say all of the pirates were prospering and
growing ever the fatter for their enjoyable toil.
